Emotional Freedom Techniques commonly know as EFT tapping is a relatively new and revolutionary way of dealing with all manner of things ranging from anxiety, phobias, trauma and self-defeating patterns, as well as defeating patterns, headaches and physical tension. Results are generally permanent even for long-term issues. I’ve been using EFT since 2001 and find it one of the most useful and empowering ways of helping clients.

A session involves gentle tapping on meridian points while focussing on the problem. It is gentle and easy to learn. Usually only a few sessions are required. Once learnt, you can also continue to use it on yourself as a self-help tool. EFT was developed by Gary Craig and is based on pioneering work by Dr Roger Callahan.

How many sessions are needed?

 

It depends on the complexity of the issue. Sometimes one session may be enough or a few sessions may be required. My aim is to help you in the shortest number of sessions and in as complete and holistic way as possible. I can also give you guidelines on how to use EFT for self-help between sessions.

Fees:

€70 (euros) per session




Sessions can be face to face or via Skype or phone.  While it is a matter of personal preference, distance sessions are just as effective. You’ll be emailed a sheet explaining exactly where to tap and using Skype video you can watch me as we tap along together.

What's involved in an EFT session?
We will have a chat to find out as specifically as possible what your problem area is and then we sum that up in a phrase which we say out loud while both of us tap on points of the face, hands and head. It is even possible to keep the issue private and simply find words which have a meaning for you as we tap along. The words are simply to keep the focus, it is the tapping that does the work. It is simple and easy and I’ll guide you every step of the way.

Is tapping simply a temporary distraction?
No tapping is not a distraction. It is using meridian energy lines which have been used for thousands of years. Modern science has shown how EFT calms the stress response. We are helping the body change its unhelpful  stress response which can limit our lives unnecessarily.

At the same time EFT does not remove our natural fight and flight response which is hard wired and which we need to keep us safe. For example, EFT can clear our fear of water but if we have never learnt to swim we will still recognise that it isn’t good idea to step in the deep end of a swimming pool! It doesn’t make you stupid! But you can then learn how to swim…and open up new possibilities for yourself.

 

I tried EFT on my own and it didn't work.
While EFT is a great self-help tool sometimes it is really valuable to work with a practitioner who can help you to the underlying core issues. EFT works best when we get specific and a practitioner can help us persevere where we might simply give up if we don’t see immediate results.

Is EFT guaranteed to work?
No. I don’t think there are absolute guarantees for anything in life. When used skilfully I would say EFT works at least 85% of the time.
